Spectra of Time. Russia–France
18–24 October 1999
The festival “Spectra of Time” is devoted to Russian and French music of the 20th century. Its concerts and conference will present a broad spectrum of musical developments in Russia and France. At the same time, the word “spectrum” also evokes the name of one of the most striking movements in contemporary art, so-called “spectral music”, which emerged and found its most interesting development in the work of French composers of the middle generation — Gérard Grisey and Tristan Murail.
