Perpetual motion and the influence of urban culture and technological progress unite the works in the first half of the concert. The programme presents early experiments from the beginning of the 20th century – Alexander Mosolov’s “The Iron Foundry” and Vladimir Deshevov’s “Rails” – alongside works by our contemporaries: Vladimir Tarnopolsky’s “Afterburner” (Russian premiere), Yuri Kasparov’s “Homage to Honegger” and Alexey Sioumak’s Parovoz Structures. The second half features the triptych Professor Bad Trip – a cult work by Fausto Romitelli that combines refined spectral technique with the brutal energy of techno and the distorted sounds of psychedelic rock.
