Programme: L. Beethoven, G. Telemann, S. Reich, H. Villa-Lobos, D. Schuler, G. Crumb
Over the centuries, composers have been fascinated by the use of unusual instruments and combinations of them, by performing music in places not intended for it, and by creative provocation. Some unconventional ideas were later established in music history and became absolute classics, and in the 20th and 21st centuries the number of compositional experiments has only grown.
The “NEformat” concert-excursion by the Studio for New Music will introduce listeners to unconventional music of different eras, from the classics to the newest works.
The host of the concert-excursion, musicologist Maria Nevidimova, will guide listeners through the locations of the park and tell them about the music that will be heard at each of them.
